I may never understand as long as I live....

I haven't posted here in a year, and yet, of the half-dozen blogs that I intermittently post to, this one gets more visits than any other, hands-down. From all over the world. All on the topic of Jews and Rabbits. I would give a prize, if I had one to give, for someone to explain the fascination to me. Honestly.

Thanks for posting this concise information.

So, okay, you asked for it. Here goes...

I went to a play last night in Portland, Oregon. The play was "The Banality of Love," by Savyon Liebrecht, an exploration of the life of Hannah Arendt, as it related to her relationship with Martin Heidegger.

In one of the scenes, her Jewish boy friend, asked her with disapproval whether she was cooking rabbit for a dinner she was making for herself and Prof. Heidinger. It was clearly an important image and moment in the play.

Today, I googled "rabbit kosher" and found your site.

This play has led me on a lovely intellectual odyssey covering the lives of Arendt, Heidinger and Liebrecht, as well as this interesting side trip.

Naturally, I'll be visiting Leviticus next!
